Pages will not update

Can't Post

Hi, I just installed this on a new website. Everything looks fine and appears to work correctly, however if I try and update a page the updates do not appear on the live site. After making changes and clicking save it displays the confirmation page (that says preview your page here) and appears to have worked, but when you check the page it hasn't updated it. Your help would be most appreciated :)

Hi there! Check to make sure that the file you're actually updating has full permissions on it -- in unix, this would be "777". In windows, it will be "full" for the user that Perl is running as (usually IUSR_SERVERNAME). If your permissions are set correctly, or if you're not quite sure how to do that... drop us an email via our support form here and we can take a look for you: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi I hope this helps! :) Donna

Hi Donna, I installed the program in a folder called "admin" inside the cgi-bin folder. I have just re-checked - the admin folder and files have been given all permissions. It won't let me change the permissions of the cgi-bin folder, but it's current permissions are > Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read. Could the problem be the permissions on this folder or is it irrelevant if I have given the admin folder the proper permissions? The pages will still not save and update live on the site

Hi AgentBristow, Thanks for your reply! I think what Donna was getting at was that the web page files themselves need to have those permissions set, rather than the software files - if the script isn't allowed to overwrite or modify existing web pages on your site, they can't be updated. Give that a try and let us know if you have any other questions about this. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
