Page Publisher stopped working

I'm a web developer who set up page publisher for a client. It's been working great for more than a year with no problems. Today, however, when my client tried to login she received this message: Warning: File not writable! This web application needs to be able to write to it's data files. Please ask your server administrator to make the following file writable: /web/transiti/public_html/cgi-bin/pp/data/setup.dat.cgi I've checked and confirmed that the file is writable with the correct permissions (644). Could the problem be that we disabled SuEXEC on the server? But disabling SuEXEC usually makes scripts work easier, not harder. We also recently upgraded our servers to Perl 5.8.8. Could that have caused the problem? Joe

Hi Joe, Thanks for your post! 644 is actually not the correct permission setting for this file. You'll want to try changing it to 744, if that doesn't work try 774, and finally 777 failing the other two options. It looks like the server reset the permissions on this file, which can sometimes be caused by routine server maintenance. Let us know if you need anything else. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Jake, I changed the permissions for the file, and while it didn't work right away, I quickly realized that I also needed to change the permissions on the other two files in the data folder as well. Everything is good now. Thank you very much for your help. Joe
