PP Data Gets Deleted When Updating Page Templates

Maybe some one could answer this question. Is there a way to save or keep the data I enter into PP, when updating page templates? All my page templates have nothing in the PML tags. I'm using PP to fill-in all current information on my pages. When I update/upload changes to page templates all data gets deleted or appears to be deleted from PP because of nothing in the PML tags. How can I keep my current up-to-date PP data an still update my page templates. Even if I put data in the PML tags on my templates they will still copy over the current data. Is there a way to do both? (Update Page Templates and still keep all current PP data? Any help or advice would be greatly be appreciated, Thanks. Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for posting! The files that you'll be working with in Page Publisher are the actual HTML files on the site and when you make a change in Page Publisher the change is saved directly onto that HTML file. This means that if you'd like to make a change to your design you'd want to grab the latest version of the HTML file off of the web server, make your changes to this and re-upload it to the server. This process is similar to if you had two people making design changes on one website. You would always want to download the latest content off of the server to make your changes to, rather than just working with the last copy you had on your local computer and potentially overwriting what is on the server. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
