It's been some time since PP has been updated -- is there any working time date for a beta or update?

Hi, Thanks for posting! Our developers are currently hard at work on an upgrade for one of our other products, Article Manager. While I'm not sure what is next in the development schedule after Article Manager I do know that once this upgrade is complete a lot of the code can be re-used and will make it easier to make upgrades to other products. Were there any specific features you were looking for in the new version of Page Publisher? Any other details as to what you were looking for should give the developers an idea of what users are hoping for in a Page Publisher upgrade and I can add them to the Feature Request list. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Nice turn around time on response ;) I think something that needs to be addressed is the lack of cross-browser support for the htmlArea (I've read the posts on this board pertaining to the subject, so I am caught up), but was also concerned about the span of time since an update (Nov. 03)... I will be purchasing PP sometime next week to begin small scale testing (I am a web master at a University) with the possibility of a very expansive roll out. I searched far and wide for something as useful yet as simple as PP but was unable to. I guess you could say your soup was just right.

Hi, Thanks for the post! I'm glad to hear that Page Publisher looks like it will fit your needs and you're planning on purchasing a license to test it out on your site. An update to the WYSIWYG editor is something that we've had requested quite a few times and actually something that we've already added to one of our other products, Article Manager. The new WYSIWYG editor is something that we plan to add to Page Publisher and our other products. Article Manager was the first product we added this to as it's our most widely used product. What we've learnt in this process should help us when it comes time to add the new WYSIWYG to our other products. While I'm not sure of a timeline for when this change might take place I do know that it's something we're hoping to add to Page Publisher. You can get some more information about the new WYSIWYG editor that's already been added to Article Manager here: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=40653#40653 I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know! Hi - When will you be updating PP to allow for cross browser support for the html editor? Article Manager has been running with it for a while now... Thanks

Hi mc. Thanks for posting! We are actually hard at work on the new version of Article Manager so we are focusing all out attention on that for now. Once that’s done, I am not quite sure what our plans are going to be. If you wanted to sign up to our newsletter on the main page, we can keep you up to date with what’s happening . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks for the quick response...seems to me like you may be abandoning PP - no update in over 2 years and none planned?? I suggest you mention that it does not work with Firefox in the System Requirements on the product info page (where you mention server requirements but not browser requirements).

thanks for that king... I'll have a go with that - but if it's that simple I don't understand why Interactive Tools doesn't repackage PP with the TinyMCEcode (or any other opensource editor), change the call in _interface.html and be done with it...

Hi guys. Thanks for the discussion . We have definitely not forgotten about Page Publisher so don’t worry about it. It’s just that for the last while we have been putting all our development resources towards the huge upgrade to Article Manager. Once that’s ready to go though, we’ll have much more time to start looking at upgrades to the rest of our software. We have always maintained a feature request list so we can keep track of what everyone is looking for in the software so just let me know if there is anything else you’d like to see added to Page Publisher. You’ll probably want to sign up for our newsletter so that we can keep you up to date on everything that’s happening. Let me know if you have anymore questions . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi King, I would love to try your suggestion of using the Tinymce code in PP. Is there any way you could let us know in more detail on the forum on what, how to edit etc? I think there will be a lot of users of PP out there who like me need to the idiots guide to hold their hand!![blush]

Damon, I followed your instructions re adding the TinyMCE editor to PP and yes it works just fine! Many thanks and well done. I can now use PP on my new clients (a MAC user) site and it also allows me to remain faithfull to your products. A Merry Xmas to all at Interactive Tools. Now, if you can only do the same for News Manager.........!
