HTML validation

Hi, My Page Publisher user has very little knowledge of HTML. But he likes to use some basic HTML in his publishable textboxes. I noticed that the HTML entered through Page Publisher is not validated at all. Please could you enhance Page Publisher with HTML validation. This means checking that every tag-open has a tag-close (except some tags like <P>, <BR> and <HR>). Bart

Hi Bart, Thanks for the feature suggestion, HTML validation is a good idea that I'll pass on to the developers. While I can't say we'll be able to add a feature like this for sure, we're hoping to do a major upgrade of Page Publisher in the future so we'll definitely take a look at this when we begin development on the next major version. If the majority of the HTML your client is using is for text formatting (making text bold, changing font types and colours, etc) the good news is that we plan to add the WYSIWYG htmlArea to the next feature update of Page Publisher, meaning your client wouldn't need to use HTML to make these changes. We'll be sure to make a huge announcement on our website, newsletter, and in the forum as soon as it's available. :) Luke Holzken Product Development

Hi Luke. (By the way, you are my hero for fixing my 'broken' PP the other day!) The addition of htmlarea will be great. If I'm right, users will be able to upload images from their computers? But will it be an option that I, as admin, can enable or disable? Can I specify whether or not the user can take advantage of htmlarea? Some clients will be OK let loose with it and some won't. We are a design company and design is the important thing! With PP at the moment, I can specify that the heading is in bold and that the following paragraphs aren't. I can specify Verdana, or whatever, of a certain size and that keeps the page looking consistent. If a client can now add bold, italics, underlines, coloured text, a different typeface etc. I can see a lot of them making a real mess of a well-designed page. Something I really love about PP is the fact that clients can't mess with the basic look of a page, it's just the text content that they can change.

Hi, Once the htmlArea feature has been added to Page Publisher you will be able to specify whether or not the user can take advantage of htmlarea. :) Luke Holzken Product Development
