Create New in Page Publisher

Hi, Thanks again for your help installing Page Publisher. Since the site is new I find myself creating new pages. At this point I have the HTML in Notepad and I save it as a new document and ftp to the server. Then I need to create a new document in Page Publisher. Would it be possible to add Create New functionality in Page Publisher as in Article Manager?

Hi there. Thanks for posting and welcome to the board! What you are looking at here is actually one of the main differences between Page Publisher and Article Manager. Basically, Page Publisher is designed to work with existing content on your site so it isn’t really setup to create whole new pages. How many pages were you looking to create? If it was going to be on a fairly regular basis, you could actually think about upgrading to Article Manager. You would just need to pay the difference in price so you won’t be starting from scratch there. Let me know what you think . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

I have wanted this for a long time, too. I don't think it is a difference between the two apps. I have reccomended this in the past and gotten the same answer. When, really, I like how PP works, with tags etc... it would be fantastic if you could create a new page based on a previous page.... tags would already be in the page, you'd have the same fields etc... It seems really obvious, but every time this is mentioned, InteractiveTools redirects folks to article manager. They are really differnt products. For folks that I am using PP with, I might just want them to be able to add a new page to a small site, but not get into all the whiz bang of Article Manager. Doesn't it make sense that you'd be able to add a new page based on an existing page?

Hi Evoir, Thanks for your feedback. That feature has definitely been requested a couple of times before, so it's something we may look at for a future version. However, right now all of our resources are working on a new version of Article Manager, so it's not something that we'd be looking at adding right away. Let me know if you have any other feature requests. :) Donna

Please add my name to this list. I own both article manager and page publisher and the ability to add a page in page publisher in my opinion does not make it similiar to article manager. I view Article manager as a complete CMS solution. I would like to offer my client the ability to add a page using Page Publisher mostly for his weekly newsletter, not to create an entire site. In my opinion this would increase the value of Page Publisher greatly. Could you have a staffer create a work-around? Thanks for any assistance. Mike

I would concur with the rest. PLEASE ADD A CREATE NEW PAGE FEATURE INTO PAGE PUBLISHER. I work with non-techno savy customers and the thought using a news editor to update edit, and delete web pages is lost on them. I love the simplicity of AM and PP (we use both).
