WYSIWYG Editor Can't Post

Hello, the station that I added News Manger to is getting a lot of line spaces after each news item Summary. So if they only have 3 or 4 Summaries, it looks funny between each paragraph. I know the Editor will cause the extra <p></p> but is there any way of clearing it. Where can I find the html file to clean it up?

Thanks,

Pat :)

Re: [patdpoo] WYSIWYG Editor [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Pat!

Thanks for your post.

There are a couple of ways you can fix this up. :)

The first is to simply turn off the WYSIWYG editor for the summaries -- in general (and yours look to be the same) summaries don't have a lot of formatting in them, so there's no need for the WYSIWYG editor.

The other is to go back to edit the article and click the "Show HTML" button -- that's the one that looks like this: <>

If you click on that, it shows you the source code for the editor, and you can remove the additional <P> tags.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :)

Re: [Donna] WYSIWYG Editor [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, Donna! Thanks, that helped to take a peak at the code and see what was there. There were several <font> opening and closing tags, one summary had about 8! So now I am thinking I need to go over to the station and show them how to use it better. One other thing, I went in to turn off the WSIWYG editor, but it looks like I have to turn the editor off together for the summary and story. Maybe I am missing something but I didn't see that I could just turn off the summary editor.

Thanks, Pat :)

Hi Pat!

Thanks for your post. :)

Ah, you're right -- my mistake, I forgot that News Manager works a little differently.

In that case, your best bet is to either clean up the code by hand. One other thing you can do is take out any additional <br> tags that might be in your template. I'd have to take a look at your template to see if there's anything that can be cut, but that might be something to take a look at.

I hope this helps!
