All the demos were installed on simple pages with no extra sections etc. I am working a Chamber of Commerce project that will have a page with several sections on the main page. 1. Are you able to install on slightly more complex pages? Will you install it in a fashion to make it a seamless install? 2. I need a very basic program like News Manager but with one added feature. Select number of articles on main page with the remainder by selecting "More News". I love the look of the program but the additional $ jump for one feature will be difficult for the client. Are there other options here? 3. Is any branding by your product required? 4. What are the server requirement? MySql? etc. Thanks, Steve steve@aoknet.com

Hi Steve, Thanks for your questions. >1. Are you able to install on slightly more complex pages? Will you install it in a fashion to make it a seamless install? We install the software into a new directory and create test publish pages in a new directory. After the software is installed you can change the publish directory and modify the publish templates to match the look and feel of the existing site. Some sites also take the published article index and include it into other pages using Server Side Includes. Here is a link to some News Manager Featured Clients to give you some ideas how other sites are using News Manager: http://www.interactivetools.com/products/newsmanager/clients.html After we have installed the software, you can login and start adding articles. The last step is to customize the templates to match your site. 2. I need a very basic program like News Manager but with one added feature. Select number of articles on main page with the remainder by selecting "More News". I love the look of the program but the additional $ jump for one feature will be difficult for the client. Are there other options here? Although News Manager doesn't support the option to select the number of articles to display on the main page with a link for more, Article Manager does include that feature. 3. Is any branding by your product required? Currently the interactivetools.com name does appear in some areas of the interface but we do have plans in the future to make all our products interfaces available to customize. Article Manager, features the option to remove all branding. 4. What are the server requirement? MySql? etc. For News Manager the server requirements are: Perl 5.004+ - Your web server must have Perl 5.004 or better. Your network administrator can download the latest version of Perl from http://www.perl.com/. Perl is extremely common though, and installed on virtually every webserver on Earth. CGI Access - Your website must be configured to run Perl/CGI scripts. FTP Access - You will be transferring files from your local computer to your website, so you will need some kind of "File Transfer Protocol" software. We recommend CuteFTP. Write Access - You must be able to make files and directories writable on your web server. If the software doesn't have write access it won't be able to update its data files. News Manager uses flatfile database so MySQL isn't required. I hope that helps. If you have any additional questions, let me know.
