News Headlines on Home Page

We've had a few clients who are interested in having News Manager headlines and summaries automatically appear on a promo section of their home page. Is there a way that we can add that without having the web site index.html file in the cgi-bin/nm folder? What I'm thinking is developing an iframe within a cell of the home page that calls a file in NM. That file would then have include statements from the application. An example of site that wants to do this is: www.rpcn.org/index_live.html If that is an option, what would the includes need to be? As always, any suggestions is most appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Practis Thanks for posting! Since News Manager publishes a static html file for your news article index, you could just link to that with your iframe. This means that you wouldn't need an include statement at all. The actual file name will likely be “index.html” and will be in the publish folder. I think that you’ll want to make a few modifications to the News Manager index page template so that when you load it into the iframe, it fits nicely into your homepage’s look and feel. The template you’ll want to modify is called “_index.html” and should be in the templates folder. Keep in mind that once you make a change to the index template, you’ll have to republish your documents from Setup Options. I hope this helps. If you’d like some more details for setting this up, just let me know . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
