Headlines only on main page

My client needs a news script that shows the headlines only on the main page that link to the full articles. Can NM do this? I saw a post about using SSI, but I got the impression that NM can only be used with the one template. If i could just create a second template that incuded only what info I needed, then included it in the main page, that would be great. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi there, Thanks for your post. :) News Manager uses two templates -- one for the index, one for the articles. There's no way to specify additional templates. However, if the only place you needed to display headlines was on the front page, then you could modify the index template to be included so that it would link off to the articles. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :) Donna

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, I think I will need to have the headlines on the main page, as well as a full news page that lists all the articles. Maybe we can add the addition of a headline template as a feature request? Thanks.

Hi Matthew, Thanks for your post. :) For something like that, you would need Article Manager. News Manager isn't meant to be anything fancy like that, just a simple list of articles. For what you're looking for, however, Article Manager would work wonderfully. :) Donna
