Erasing Multiple Enteries in Jobs Manager

Dear Interactive Tools, Thank you for the excellent Jobs Manager package which we are now using for quite sometime. With time, our index.html where the jobs are published has grown very big in size and takes a long time to download http://65.110.68.184/jm/publish/index.html I gather, it is not possible to break it into different pages (as is possible in the Article manager package we use). However is it possible to delete multiple job entries (instead of going one by one) so that we are able to reduce the size of the index file and at the same time remove jobs which have expired. Deleting each job individually takes a long time and we need to remove almost 2000 entries. Please help, since many long time Jobs Manager users may be finding the same problem. Best regards, nVikas

Hi nvikas, Thanks for the forum post . Here's the step-by-step instructions on erasing multiple entries in Job Manager: 1. Backup the job.dat file in /data directory. 2. You did do step 1 right? Having a backup is very important here. 3. Open job.dat with Notepad (no word processors), notice that each line: 3¡1067990772¡1067992063¡1¡4¡1067982921¡IT-3434¡QA Analyst is a job posting. Simply remove the lines as approriate. 4. Save the file. 5. Upload it back to the server, replacing the original file. That's it! . I highly recommend you do this in batches (ie. delete some lines, upload the file, test, and repeat). That helps reduce the likelihood of your file being corrupted in the process. I hope this helps. If you have other questions please let me know. Cheers, Eric Lau - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
