Approving Job Postings

I want to have a job listing site where employers can post listings. Is it possible to have a system in place to approve job listings submitted before going live to the web? Or where they have to sign up and pay before posting a job? Thank you for your help. Garland Coulson, "The E-Business Tutor" www.ebusinesstutor.com

Hi Garland, Thanks for your post! :) If you're looking for a program where various employers can post job listings then Job Manager probably wouldn't be the best solution. Job Manager is best suited for company websites that want to post their job listings on the job section of their website. If you're looking for something more robust I would recommend checking out Realty Manager. Realty Manager comes with a total of 75 customizable listing fields. For example, you can modify the address field to be Job Title, remove the square feet field, or create a new field for Salary. It's entirely up to you. I noticed in your other post you were inquiring about a Search Engine. The good news is Realty Manager already comes with a search engine that can easily be modified for searching job postings. You might want to check out this client site to get an idea of how they modified Realty Manager for listing Job Postings. Search Page: http://www.lakejobs.com/cgi-bin/database/jobs/exec/search.cgi/ Search Results: http://www.lakejobs.com/cgi-bin/database/jobs/exec/search.cgi?search=1&perpage=5 Also, where every user in Job Manager has access to update each and every job posting in the database, Realty Manager allows users to only update and create their own listings. So if you had individual employers set up as users, one employer wouldn't have access to accidentally update another employers job posting. As for having a system in place for approving listings before they go live on the web, unfortunately Realty Manager doesn't support this feature. There is, however, a free add-on module available that allows site visitors to sign up for a user account. It doesn't have any payment features, but what you could do is have a payment form on your website where visitors would enter in their payment information (you could even use something like PayPal). Upon clicking submit, if the users credit card was approved they could be redirected to the user account sign up form where they could then create a Realty Manager user account. So in short, you could customize Realty Manager for posting job listings. I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please let me know! Luke Holzken Product Development

Hi Luke, I am thinking about making a job board for a Dutch professional organisation. This sounds very interesting to us. If we would choose Realty Manager, we would like to restrict the access to the user account sign up form to our members. Is this hard to realise? Thanks in advance for your answer! And best regards, KLV

Hi KLV, Thanks for posting! :) I'm guessing that your members have access to a member are on your site through a password protected login screen. As long as the signup add-on is only available through the password protected area of your website, then only your members would have access to the signup form. If you're referring to members as only being users of Realty Manager, then these would be users that you would create using the program. In this case you wouldn't even need the free signup add-on. I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please let me know. Luke Holzken Product Development
