How do I make a proper backup of the DocBuilder-installation? - Which files and directories?
- Ascii or binary mode?
- Do the data-files contain all the information I need to republish the site, even if I don't have the html output files?
Regards Kjell

Hi Kjell, THanks for your post. To make a backup of docBuilder, the most important files (which are unique to your installation) are stored in the /data directory. This directory contains account information, your setup configuration and your group.dat file which stores information about your document groups. Download these files via FTP in ascii mode. Secondly, you'll also want to make a backup of your templates - since if you've made any modifications, they're stored in those file. These are found in your /templates directory. Again, download these in ascii mode. Besides those two, the remainder of your site can be reproduced from a fresh installation of DocBuilder. [ Of course, backing everything up never hurts. In terms of formats, the only files that need to be downloaded in binary format are the images themselves. ] Hope this helps! :-) Ben interactivetools.com
