is there is a way to add (associate) video file to articles Can't Post

I am using Article Manager 1 and i was wondering if there is a way to include a video file when uploading articles, just like ESPN. So when i create a new article I should be able to upload a swf file that should be associated to that article.

I am currently using video files in different pages of my site, but i only update them manually.
You can see it at:

Thanks.

Hi Melz6682,

Thank you for posting! :)

There are a couple of ways you can insert video files with Article Manager 1. One way would be to use YouTube or Google Video. Donna actually prepared a useful tutorial in a recent newsletter on how to do exactly this. You can read over it here:

http://www.interactivetools.com/news/issue0046.html#3

The other method would involve copy and pasting the flash code directly into your content field when creating a new article. You can read further details here:

http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/gforum.cgi?post=395;t=search_engine#395

For either of these methods you're going to want to disable your XSS filter.

If the XSS filter is enabled it will filter out the Flash code that you're using in your articles.

You can just turn the XSS filter off if all of your users are trusted and this will allow you to paste Flash content in the WYSIWYG editor. To do this, open the exec/config.ini file and find this line:

enable_xss_filter = 1

And change it to this:

enable_xss_filter = 0

This will allow you to paste your Flash code via the Article Editor.

Just a quick warning: turning off the XSS filter will make you vulnerable to malicious code submitted with your articles, so make sure you trust your contributors before disabling this option.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let me know! Smile
