database charset problem

hi, previously, articles and content were being fed into the database from admin using the windows-1256 charset, and now with the new design the universal UTF-8 charset replaced the old one. new pages being entered into the system and viewed online have no visual problems, but the old ones which were eneterd using the old charset show problems with single and double quotes to say the least. EXAMPLE http://www.yobserver.com/cgi-bin/2007/exec/view.cgi/1/8048 how can i change the charset from the database itself? are there any tools to do that? Marssin

Hi Marssin, Thanks for the post! Sorry for the delay on this Marssin, it looks like our spam filter accidently flagged your post. If I understand correctly your old Article Manager templates used windows-1256 encoding but the newly designed templates are using UTF-8 is this correct? If so have you tried re-publishing all your articles? Give this a try Marssin and keep me updated on the progress. :) Cheers, Chet Woodside - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

yes, i have republished all articles in UTF-8 i think the only way to resolve this is to change the database charset itself, or...? Marssin

Hi Marssin, Thanks for the follow-up! I am not sure at the moment what may be causing this for you, would you mind filling out a support request with your ftp details? When I am able to login to your server I will be happy to take a closer look at this. :) You can fill out a support request here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi I look forward to hearing back from you Marssin!
