css in Wysiwyg

Hi - I've just upgraded from version 1.38 to 1.41. I haven't been using the wysiwyg editor until now, but thought I'd give it a whirl. I seem to remember reading (quite a while ago) in one of the newsletters that there was a tutorial explaining how to get the editor to use a site's css stylesheet. Is my memory correct or is this not possible? If so, could you point me in the right direction for it? Thanks, Steve.

Hi Steve. Thanks for posting! The tutorial you are thinking about here is actually for Page Publisher, but Chet just recently put one together for setting the same thing up in Article Manager. You can have a look at it here: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=49268#49268 Let me know how you make out . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Ross. Looks a bit involved so I'll set aside some time for it!

Ross just to let you know - I implemented the css colour scheme - it was really straight forward and not complicated at all. For the record I am a bit if a blunderbus in this regard!

Thanks Ross. As Margaret says it's not tough at all - just looked like a lot of things to do! It works very well - thanks for pointing me to it! Regards, Steve.

Ok - I will never "brag" that I have worked things out. I got this working fine but now I have tried to add a new style and it won't show up on my WYSIWYG editor. I edited the content.css in /common and /wysiwyg2 then published all put the new style is still not available in the article - any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi Margaret! Did you also add the extra code to the interface template? Is it showing up in the editor at all, or it it just not appearing on the article itself? Did you update your templates to refer to the css file? If you'd like, we can take a look and see what's going on there for you. You can fill out a support request form here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi I hope this helps, Margaret! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :) Donna

Hi - Um. I seem to be having the same problem as Margaret. I wanted to modify the styles available. If we're using css in the way Chet instructed above, shouldn't making a new style available or getting rid of another one simply be a matter of editing the .css files in /wysiwyg2/scripts/styles/content.css and /images/common/content.css, then re-publishing all articles? Then the next time you click on the styles tab it should reflect the changes? I can't seem to get anything to change... regards, Steve.

Hi Steve. Thanks for posting! I am not actually quite sure what would be preventing the styles you select from actually updating the article content. Would you mind filling out a support request through link Donna posted above? I look forward to hearing from you . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Not sure - but do you need to "Publish All" after changing the css files? Tim Forrest Toledoh Enterprises

Hi Steve, Thanks for the update! I have looked into this for you and it appears that the issue had to do with some minor syntax errors. :) One thing to keep in mind when adding a new style is that you may need to refresh the browser window that you have the Article Manager admin section running on, additionally you may need to clear your browser cache after adding new styles. :) Does this help Steve? If you have any other questions please feel free to ask! Cheers, Chet Woodside - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
