I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to use Article Manager to change the featured photo as seen at: http://www.ourtimes.ca/artman/ The photo is a fixed size that fits into the box I have created using CSS. Ideally, I would like text to go over top but am willing to have it embedded into the photo as a graphic. Any ideas on how I could do this? Also, I want the graphic of this month's current issue to display on all pages. Can this be done with PHP includes as I am using on various other pages? Thanks! Greg Toronto, Canada

Hi there, What I'd recommend would be a variation of this tutorial: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=50869#50869 This goes over how to have a "unique style" for a top story, but you could easily set it up so that it only displayed the photo from the "top story" (or whatever you wanted to call it) instead. Take a look at that and let me know if that's along the lines of what you're looking for? Donna

Thanks Donna. Is this something more suited to Article Manager 2? I have to admit. I installed AM2 and played around with it a bit but find it very confusing compared to AM1. I have used AM1 on a few sites with no problems. How steep is the AM2 learning curve? Greg

Hi Greg, Ah, sorry -- didn't notice this was in the Artman 1 forum. :) It's definitely going to be a lot easier & cleaner with Article Manager 2. With Artman 1... I think the easiest way would be to have a single article that was sorted to the top of the list at all times, and have that article just be the image. You won't have quite as much control over the formatting, though. As for the learning curve... it seems to vary, actually. Some people find it a lot easier than Artman 1, and some people are pretty confused at first. But it's a heck of a lot more powerful (the complexity can add to the confusion) but a lot of the complexity can be ignored until you need it. :) Donna
