Hi, I have added two custom fields to AM 1.41. One is for the meta description and the other for the meta keywords. I then add these to the default article (full) when publishing to help the search engines. The problem is that sometimes I do not fill in these fields but the <meta description...> tag still shows at the top of the html without any content. Is there a way of conditionally including this field so that it only puts in the meta commands when I have added something into the user fields?

Hi there, With Article Manager 1 ... not really. With Article Manager 2, we could definitely set something up like this, though. One other option you could use is to pre-fill ALL fields with a few defaults, but include the placeholder as well so that it would display your defaults as well as the custom content. Would that work for you? Donna

Hi Donna, I could pre-fill but that would give equal emphasis to all pages by default and so nullify the seo stuff. I was hoping you could have some logic like you use on the includes for templates where you say <if this user field is not empty then show this field...>. I think conditional user fields could be a useful addition as I could think of all sorts of uses. Regards Jonathan

Hi Jonathan, We thought so, too! That's why we included template logic in Article Manager 2. :) Donna
