Tutorial - highlight keywords in search results
Hi guys. I was playing around with some JavaScript the other day and came across a neat little trick that would let you highlight keywords in your Article Manager search results. Basically what would happen is if you search for “Article Manager" it will be highlighted in any of the summaries it appears in on the search results page. At the same time, the search results page will say “Keyword search for: Article Manager”. For anyone wanting to test it out, I have a demo running here: http://www.interactivetools.com/staff/ross/highlight_keyword/exec/search.cgi Try searching for “Article Manager” but keep mind that the highlighting is case sensitive . Instead of going into all the details on how this is setup, I have attached a sample search results template for your reference. Just upload it to your templates/search folder to try it out. If anyone wants more details on what’s going on feel free to send me an email. Give it a shot and let me know if you come across any questions . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
