When will Goforum be available for VBulletin 3? Several other software makers that I use (Photopost, Hivemail etc) have all already included VB3 support as VB35 is stable. Thanks again, -Jason

Hi trackpads! Thanks for your post. :) Because VBulletin 3 is still in Beta, it's really not a good idea for us to be modifying our scripts to work with it as the very nature of beta software means that it's likely to change before it's released as a final version. However! We are frequently willing to add additional forums to GoForum for a custom programming fee. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :) Donna

Well the beta is very stable being that it is the final befre RC and as I mentioned the other makers are already rolling out compatible scripts for it. Paying more (after I just popped $300 for AM) is not something I can do right now. Thanks anyway, -Jason

Hi Jason, At this time, we're not planning on upgrading the GoForum script. However, it will work with the version of the forum software that was available when it was last updated. As it's a free add-on, we don't make any guarantees of forward compatibility. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :) Donna

Strange...I could have swore I posted a message in this thread. Anyway, will an upgrade to the GoForum script be available for a price? I'm very interested in Article Manager but I absolutely have to have it able to integrate with vBulletin 3.

Hi Elbert, Thanks for posting, and thanks for emailing me. I'm just posting my response here so that the community can benefit from it. Our forum integration script may work with vBulletin 3.0 RC2, but as far as I know it's untested. vBulletin was the first forum which GoForum supported, but there have been numerous upgrades to vBulletin. The last version that we are certain that it is compatible with is v2.3.0. Although I haven't heard of it being incompatible with any of the new versions, I really can't say for sure unless you were to try it yourself. We are not planning on upgrading the GoForum script, so your best bet would be to try it out with an installation of Article Manager and see if it works. There is a 90-day money back guarantee, no questions asked, so if it doesn't suit what you need, we will gladly refund your money. If it does work for you, it's yours to keep. I hope that helps, but if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to let me know :) Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

If you don't mind me asking, why the decision to not upgrade, or at the least, to provide an upgrade for a nominal fee? I would think this would only be a great value-add for your current customers and an even greater draw for potential ones. vBulletin is probably the most widely used forum software out there despite being the only popular one to come at a price -- its users are willing to fork over dollars in exchange for quality. So it's no surprise when add-ons such as hivemail or photopost are being offered for a fee. It will be at least six to twelve months before vBulletin releases their own integrated content management system. At this time, there are few to none that integrate well with the newest version (I've tried using nePHP and would politely recommend against it until they get a little more organized). Anyway, I'll take you up on your offer. Worst case scenario -- I have to beg someone else to hack your GoForum script to make it work:)

Hi Elbert, You make some excellent points. The main reason that GoForum's on the backburner is because we are focusing our resources on the continued development of our existing products. Because GoForum relies on 3rd party forum software (and can work with not one but several different forums), it became very difficult to maintain. We would ultimately like to have a solution in place that is up to our standards, but like I say, we would like to get things like sub-categories added because it would provide more value for everyone. Although upgrading GoForum isn't on our development schedule, we're open to ideas and suggestions. Perhaps having something like a paid version that only works with 2 or 3 select forums. This would be easier to maintain and readily available to those who need it. If you have any other suggestions or ideas, please don't hesitate to let me know Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

Hi Saracen, Good to hear from you. :) To be honest, maintaining *many* versions of GoForum would be even more difficult than maintaining *one*. The reason GoForum supports so many forums is because they were all, at one point, requested by users. At the moment, we have no plans to add any further development to GoForum, but I'll definitely add your interest in VB3 to our requested features. :) Donna

Two questions - has any one actually tried VB 3 with GoForum? and does VB 2.3.4 [the current version] work with GoForum. From the point of view of an AM user it is only essential that the most popular BB is supported - and that seems to be VB. But I think that Interactivetools have probably taken on board the interest from their customers - who have even been offering license fees.

Hi there, Yes, the current version of VBulletin (version 2) is supported by GoForum. However, at this time we have no plans to upgrade GoForum in the immediate future to support any future or beta versions. Hope this helps. :) Donna

Hi Mick, Thanks for your post. :) As I mentioned previously, we currently don't have any plans to update it for any new forums since it's an unsupported script. That being said, we may end up updating it for VBulletin 3, as this appears to be an extremely popular forum. At the moment, I don't have any news as to when this may or may not be. I hope this helps. :) Donna
