Blog4AM Add-on for Article Manager Can't Post

I have created a nice add on to Article Manager that adds a Blog feature to your article pages.

Please check out: www.smartgridnews.com

Article with several posts: http://www.smartgridnews.com/artman/publish/article_314.html

PLEASE DO NOT POST A MESSAGE AT THIS SITE.

THIS IS A LIVE SITE OF A CLIENT -- LOOK, DO NOT TOUCH, PLEASE.

I am almost done creating the instructions and will be offering it for sale soon.

It does not require MYSQL, but only Perl and one line of code to be added to your templates. So you can have it on some pages but not others. It works with AM1 and should work with AM2 as well.

It offers cookies to remember a user, a human code check to stop spam, a bad words/ip list to reduce spam, email notification to an admin email list with one click delete of messages, limits on message post size as well as a routine to post a random blog link to your main page if you have cron access. You can also add a count to your index pages for people to see the number of blog posts on an individual article. The software uses it own database, but uses AM article numbers for reference. Look and feel is HTML template driven so there is no need to update Perl code unless you want to. Many of the features have options to turn on and off, like email notification and the human check.

Please let me know what you think and if $75.00 sounds like a resonable price for something like this, with lifetime updates. (like the old days of AM) I have set up a site www.blog4am.com which I will update with details once we are ready to go.

I have tried to keep it simple to install and for users to post. I have used it now on two sites for several months and it works well. It has increased traffic and discussion of articles. (We used to try to get people to go to a message base link.)

Let me know what you think.

All the best,
-Jon

P.S. I have been using AM for several years on several web site for clients. Great stuff.

Nice. I'm currently using another comment script but it uses a lot of server resources. I would be VERY interested in yours if/when you release it.
