Re: [etfreedman] Add-on: autopublish.cgi 1.0 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the post! Smile

From my end here it's a bit tough to see what may be happening but it seems there could be an issue with the URL being used or the username and password you're using.

If you'd like me to try logging in myself I'll just need the URL and username and password so the best thing would probably be to send me your FTP details via a Support Request:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

This should allow me to get onto the server and try this out myself.

I look forward to hearing from you Terry! Smile

Hi Mike

Thanks for your email response - you were quite right!

I set "Dynamic Page Rendering" to "Resolve SSIs and Server-side Scripting" and the 'problem' went away. It was my fault entirely as my ISP does support SSI.

Re: [trandel] Add-on: autopublish.cgi 1.0 - MORE INFO [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

Now I have a new problem - SEARCH fails with an error on line 1784 - Unknown Host. The (forum) resolution for this is to change from SSI includes to template includes ------ Is this a Catch22???

Just for now I will do that as it affects everyday running but what do I do about using autopublish??

Regards

Tony Randell

Hi Tony, Thanks for the post! Smile I think we had talked about this via email a bit earlier today and I had done a bit of testing with this myself. Hopefully everything is working for you on your end and if you have any other questions or comments, just let me know! Smile

Re: [MikeB] Add-on: autopublish.cgi 1.0 - MORE INFO [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Mike,

Thanks it is definitely working again and I did nothing except change the setting back to template include to get rid of the error 'Unknown Host' when using search. After your email I have changed the setting back to SSI include and everything still seems to be working fine. I will keep an eye on it to see if there are any special conditions that cause this to happen - and then go away!

Did you ever get to look at the other problem where I found that you have to hit Publish All after using Auto-publish? Extract of problem description I sent via email: "One thing I perhaps did not make clear is that auto-publish did work in that the articles were all changed from hidden to visible status. They also appeared on then actual website as one would have expected - much to the elation of my client (their first set of articles)!! (NB By then, we were using SSI Includes on Mike's advice ) But, what we did not know at the time was that you could not modify any of the published articles without getting an error (this type of error was resolved initially by changing from SSI to Template Includes). After raising the issue with you guys I went and tried the ordinary 'Publish All' button and the problem with modifying went away. " Regards Tony Randell

Hi Tony.

Thanks for the update!

I am not actually quite sure what had been happening on that issue. What I’ll do is double check with Mike when he is back in the office tomorrow.

In the meantime, feel free to post or send in anymore questions you have Smile.
