IE6 / Netscape 7.1 compatibility problems?

I had a few technical problems with IE 6 over the weekend. I temporarily installed Netscape Nav 7.1 and was able to access my IE 6 favourites and surf the net. I now have the technical problems with IE 6 sorted out but my attempts to get IE 6 working the way it had done originally have failed. I cannot type into the messege section of an OE email although I can type in an address and subject and send and receive emails. And I now cannot check several important affiliate admin accounts.
And advice would be brilliant,
