Hi, Is it possible to download htmlarea 3.0? It seems like the forums are all closed up over there, and that's the only way to download it!

Hi matth, Thanks for posting and welcome to the board! While htmlArea has always been an open source script, we've decided to discontinue it. The good news is we'll be relaunching htmlarea.com in the near future, and this time as a directory of WYSIWYG editors. So instead of being able to choose from just htmlArea, you'll have an entire directory of WYSIWYG editors to choose from. If you want you can join the interactivetools.com newsletter and we can let you know when htmlarea.com has been relaunched as a WYSIWYG directory, or feel free to visit htmlarea.com occasionally and see the changes as they unfold. In the mean time, if you have any other questions please feel free to let me know . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi Ross, Ok well that explains what happened over there... I guess I just have 2 questions about htmlarea then, to keep me going in the mean time until the website opens up. #1 - What would I need to modify in HTMLAREA 3.0 to specify the size of the window for colour (fore and background)? In mozilla they popup but are way too small.. in ie they are fine.. #2 - Is there anyway to increase the speed at which htmlarea 3.0 renders? In that... if there is already text in the textarea.. it seems to go character by character until it's done and then convert.. but it's very slow...

Hi again matth. Thanks for the follow-up. Unfortunatly the JavaScript involved in the changes you are looking for is beyond my knowledge so I am not going to be much help. If you were able to get in touch with a JavaScript expert, they might be able to help out. Even without fully understanding the way it works, I think you could try disabling features that you don’t actually use. For instance, if you always use just one font, you could try cutting the code out that loads all the other fonts. Hopefully you’ll be able to find someone to help. Perhaps you could try posting one of our brand new developers forums. You might be able to get in touch with great programmer that can lend a hand. The best place to start would be here: http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/Web_Development_C5/Web_Design_%26_Coding_%28HTML%2C_CSS%2C_JavaScript%2C_etc%29_F26/. If you get something going though, I am sure we would all be interested to hear about it. So keep us updated . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
