Hey Cornish, sorry for poking my nose in :) The forum is available to buy. It's made by a company called Gossamer Threads. You can find it here along with quite a few other useful scripts. http://www.gossamer-threads.com/

However, before you shell out $200, take a look at my number one choice, www.vbulletin.com. I'm currently running it at a number of places, the biggest of which is a personal forum, www.crithsot.com. Highly recommended!!

We actually looked at a couple of Forum packages; Gossamer Threads, vBulletin and Ultimate Bulletin Board and ended up going with this one. The software is pretty cool, but I found customizing the templates really difficult and confusing. :-( Fraser Cain - Product Manager interactivetools.com, inc. Another very flexible and easy to modify board is ikonboard (http://www.ikonboard.com). The software is free for both personal and commercial use, OpenSource, skinable, and can be used with or without mySQL support. Set up was almost as easy as the Interactive Tools products :-)

Oh wow, I just noticed. Every time I write the words Gossamer Threads in this forum, the software puts a link to the Gossamer Threads website. That's hilarious! Gossamer Threads, gossamer threads, gossamer THREADS. Far too clever for their own good. (I'm passing that sneaky idea along to the development team). Personally I find Ubb.Threads to be much better - threaded and flat-file views / all template driven / php scripts / and a growing hacking comunity at threadsdev.com - very easy to configure things to how you want it. Ian

I've always liked DCForum by DC Scripts. All of these forum scripts are basically the same now anyway. Decisions should come down customer support by the company along with a good hacking community for customization. DCForum has both. The company is small yet responsive.
