Greetings: I am wondering if there is a list of features that you guys and gals can post here on the forums to inform us exactly what features AM will have in its next version.

Hi Skaye, Thanks for posting! :) Currently our primary focus for Article Manager is mySQL support. The developers are working very hard on getting mySQL integrated into Article Manager, so when we've completed mySQL we'll revisit our development schedule and plan what to do next. If you have any other questions please let me know. :) Luke Holzken Product Development

Luke: Thank you for the update. I am sure everyone appreciates this information. While I have found AM to be a great script/program, I can not help but notice the lag (for lack of a better word) between the development of new versions/features. There are quite a few really great features/functions that have been posted on the boards, which should be functional with AM. For example: AM should be able to post-date new articles - a feature that I thought was out-of-the-box when I purchased the script. While Mysql integration will be most welcomed, is there a time table you can report for both Mysql and the other "features" to be revisited in the development schedule? Best regards, Shawn

Hi Shawn Thanks for posting! There isn’t currently a set list of features that are being considered for new Article Manager as our development team is still focusing all its time on the MySQL release. Once that is done, they will turn their attention to newer versions of all our software. I assure you that once a finalized list of features is set, we will be letting everyone know. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, just let me know . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

While I can understand your position on not revealing "release" dates for product updates, this has become quite ridiculous. I did a search of the forums and found that the first blurb of "we are working on a mysql version" was July 25th, 2002!!!! 2 1/2 years!!! We simply cannot "hold out" for feature implementations any longer. All of IT's products are great. But a few features here and there would make them AWESOME. The features that are requested always seem like they should be easy to implement. Right now, I have a real estate client that I need to do a quote for. But LM is lacking just one, yes ONE, important feature that is keeping me from using RM. But if I just knew if the feature would be implemented (it is a popular request), I could use RM knowing that the feature will be added. I guess it just boils down to the fact that if the software doesn't work for what you need RIGHT NOW, AS IS, then don't use it. Which is frustrating, because the IT product line could be sooooo awesome. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry to be a pest, um, what's the MYSQL enhancement going to do? Allow more articles, more speed?

Hi Brian. Thanks for posting! You are correct on both accounts. The MySQL version of Article Manager will significantly increase the article limit (if not eliminate all together) and the speed at which Article Manager can access its data. We know that everyone is waiting for this upgrade, so our developers are working as hard as they can to get it done. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, don’t hesitate to post them . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

I'm in no rush for it, as I'm a bit phobic about upgrades. Almost as if I use Microsoft products or something... my history with upgrading has been less than fruitful, but more than interesting. Here's a question though. When I bought the product Donna installed it for me. When I should go to upgrade, how much support is available? Especially when it comes to something like an upgrade from .shtml to .php files, there's going to be some mess involved, yes? So how much can I lean on you guys in those troublesome times? I'd likely opt to do it on a Sunday night when my readership is at it's lowest (as I quite literally survive off my site's income) and that's one time you guys aren't around. For that matter, how tricky and dangerous is an upgrade, as ALL my templates are fairly severely modified?

Hi brianbankerus, You can 'lean on us' whenever you need to, that's what we are here for so if you need help with anything don't hesitate to ask If you would like to handle the upgrade and re-configuration of Article Manager yourself, you can download the latest version from our upgrades page. Here is the link for you: http://www.interactivetools.com/upgrade/ When you download an upgrade, it includes a full copy of all the installation files in a .zip file and if you need help at any time during the upgrade you can let us know. If you would like to have us upgrade and re-configure Article Manager for you, you can submit an order for an additional installation. You can do this through the orders page on our website. The cost is $49. Here is the link for you. http://www.interactivetools.com/order/ I hope that helps! Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com
