bring back the Archiving feature + Article mass move

Hello, its been a while interactivetools.com!! I am very satisfied with AMv2 so far. Great script! But I was sad to see a very important feature in v1, the archive system, discarded in v2. Could you tell us the reasoning behind that decision on your part? I understand that initially, the archive feature was used to "free up space" on the main DAT file database, and since we use mySQL now instead, that feature is no longer needed as we can have millions of records without compromising quality and speed of your application... but to me, the archive feature "itself" was a great component of article manager. Would you consider bringing it back anytime soon? In addition, can you add my vote to the many whom requested the feature that allows admins to change the category of a bulk set of articles... "mass article move" feature? Thanks! Marssin

Hi Marssin Thanks for posting! I am glad you are enjoying Article Manager 2 and all of its great new features. With the archiving, you actually hit the nail on the head with your reasoning. In Article Manager 1, it was used to free up space and keep everything moving along smoothly. In version 2, that feature got upgraded to MySQL support. I also like the idea of mass category switch and will be adding your name to the list with everyone else requesting that. As always, of course, I don't exactly know the timeframe for that particular feature but it's definitely on the list. I recommend signing up for the monthly newsletter (on the left side of our main page) if you haven't already. That way, we can keep you up to date on everything we are doing. Keep me up to date with how you are making out and let me know if you had any other suggestions . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Count me in on the mass move. It would be very handy for magazine or news sites that might have a "Current Issue" category. Then when the next one comes out you'd move those articles to an archive type category.
