Realty Manager Wish List Can't Post

Hi.

Here are the items that I would like in a future release of Realty Manager. It is pretty much a wish list and I accept that some of it may not be practical. However, thought I would get all my ‘wishes’ on the table.

1) Make it more interactive with potential clients.

1a) A number of existing packages have the ability where clients can specify their criteria, which is stored on the database. When new properties are added which meet these criteria, the clients automatically receive an EMAIL notification. I believe that this would be a strong asset for marketing properties.

1b) RSS is starting to take off and a number of existing packages have RSS feeds for properties. It should be possible to create multiple RSS feeds based on criteria (e.g. price, location), which clients could then subscribe to. Given a RSS feed, one can now creat a MyMSN or a MyYahoo button which will give a client a RSS feed with a single click, so I think this would be a good seller as well.

2) Remove the 2000 limit on number of properties (OK, I know that one can go over 2000, but there is a limit). This probably means a SQL implementation. Make sure that the SEO advantages of the current implementation are not lost when moving to SQL.

3) Fully automated for individuals doing single advertisements. The system appears to be designed around the concept of agents. It doesn’t work gracefully for large numbers of individuals placing a single advertisement each. It would be nice to have a means to take all the details, ask for payment (e.g. PayPal) and then create an entry in the database automatically. In other words AutoRegistration. Perhaps one can do this through a script.

4) Fully multi-lingual. The template capabilities of Realty Manager means that it is almost completely multi-lingual from the point of people viewing properties. There are two weak areas.

4a) The first is that on the input side it is only English. As I have some agents that speak only French, some only German and some only English, it would be nice to be able to have templates for property adds as well.

4b) The second is that while my templates are now fully multi-lingual, text (e.g. a property description) is still an issue. It would be nice to have a tie-in to an existing translation database via a script in order to do automatic translation.

5) Built-in mortgage calculator (which is not USA specific). Perhaps built-in currency converter (there are a number of firms that offer currency converters but they seem to demand banner advertising in exchange). I don’t mind giving advertising in exchange for information, but I hate putting flashing banners on my site.

6) A stats package. Interesting items: total number of visitors, number of properties seen, number of times each property has been seen (today, last week, last month), most popular properties.

Re: [FranceFan] Realty Manager Wish List [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi FranceFan.

Thanks for posting!

I really appreciate the amount of detail you went into with your suggestions. I’ll get these added to the list for you so the developers can have a look when the start working on the next version of Listings Manager.

We haven’t actually started putting together a feature list yet so I can’t say for sure what will and won’t be in the next version, but if you keep sending in your suggestions I can get them all added to the list.

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime Smile.
