Options For Addons with AM Installation Can't Post

I am thinking of purchasing AM. Since I am not a technical person, I am concerned with all the complicated coding for adding these addons.

Is there any way you can add options for addons at the new installation of AM?

I. Some addons I am thinking of is:

1. read more articles by this author
2. Comment on this article (linked to a VBulletin Forum)
3. RElated Articles by category or key words
4. User registration
5. Poll
6. Rating Article

II. I've been using phpNuke for my website. (see: http://hannamquan.com) The problem with phpNuke is that it does not have the support for article management like AM. Ilike the admin part of the phpnuke. I can change or make blocks, add modules with ease. Can we do the same with AM?

III. Last question
Is there a possibility to integrate AM into PHPNUKE?

Thank you for your reply in advance.

Re: [nxp] Options For Addons with AM Installation [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for your suggestions. We have considered incorporating some of the add-ons into Article Manager. In some cases we just expand the feature set of the software so it's standard and in other cases, we just make the add-ons available here on our website.

PHPnuke works quite differently from Article Manager. Our software is mainly designed for managing a news-oriented website, and not really as a portal software. So, it's not really easy to compare then on a feature by feature basis.

I'm actually not sure if it's possible to integrate Article Manager and PHPNuke. You can have Article Manager generate PHP documents, so it might be possible. Has anyone tried this?

In as much as it can output any file extension, Article Manager can be integrated into absolutely anything to some extent. For example, I have used vBulletin to restrict access to article manager sections, and I know that an addon was written for the "discuss this article" for many forums.

It depends on how you want it integrated - but all you'd need to do is set up PHPNuke to include the article manager files, which will be created dynamically.

I wrote my own "CMS" as I had particular needs, but I still use AM for all the article / columns / news related stuff.

Right, I could see having the two applications running side by side. Article Manager to handle the news-oriented stuff and then PHPNuke to do voting, calenders, etc. You could use Article Manager to publish PHP pages and then incorporate little snippets generated by PHPNuke. There are a lot of options.

Thank you for the replies. It's encouraging to hear that AM can be incorporated into phpnUke.

I would like to know if any one has tried to do this.

I would contribute $100.00 for this effort.
