New Upgrade Suggestions

I think it is awesome that you guys give free upgrades don't get me wrong, but if it meant that I would have to pay to have new features to get them quicker, I for one would. I know that you guys have "the list" that you guys have where you tally the features we request, but the response time for new releases is too slow. There has to be some quick feature enhancements that you could have one developer work on. Not mentioning this as a criticism, but just as realistic feedback. In my humble opinion, mySQL is not needed as much as new navigation features, templates, index page options other than the generic list that is currently available. This is the bread and butter of the program, not some Enterprise Level script accommodation. If we paid for updates would you guys increase your turn around time? Perhaps $29-50/upgrade? I can't believe I am alone in this thinking.

Hi I think that this is a great idea if it means that we end up with the features we need. Why not allow the community to choose what they need and then I am sure that a $30 to $50 hit would be paid to cover the cost of development. Cheers Si Turkish Homes

Hi Nathan and Si, Paid upgrades is an interesting idea, and to be honest it's not something we're currently considering. Many of our customers really enjoy the free upgrades and something similar has actually been discussed in the past. You can check out the following thread for more: http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/P520 I come from the opinion that free upgrades allow us to provide better support. It makes it that much easier to give prompt and effective support for a product if the client is running the most recent version of the software. You're correct, it has been some time since we've released an upgrade. mySQL integration is a large undertaking, so we have been working on it for some time now. While we can't add everyone's favourite feature we always try to add the features that we find most people are asking for. mySQL has been such a feature. That said, we're always happy to hear suggestions and feedback. If you have any other suggestions please let me know! :) Luke Holzken Product Development
