Multiple Products... Single Sign-on

I'm interested in using a few of your products together as a product suite. Do multiple products (i.e. DocBuilder, NewsManager, and PagePublisher) work with single sign-on for the administrative functions? We would like to combined them as an administrative tool. If this doesn't exist can we customize the code to make it so?

Hi - What a number of people have done is create a custom page for their clients, with links to each product (with the username & password hardcoded into the link) and stored this page within a password protected directory. Therefore, the client only has to enter his / her password once when trying to access the link-page. Would this work in your case, do you think? Ben interactivetools.com

I think we're looking for more of a user management app that would allow an administrator give permission for a user to see various apps. Meaning... I could give a user rights to login and see Doc Builder and News Manager but not Page Publisher (or any combination). The User management app would know what apps are installed on a system and provide a simple interface for access rights. Single sign-on is important here.

I see - so you'd like a separate page where the administrator can simply check boxes next to clients names to allow them access to the various products. Neat. We don't have any existing scripts that would allow you to do this - but one could certainly be written... I've passed it on to our developers to be considered as a feature request. May I ask, is this an issue because you're dealing with a large number of clients? Ben interactivetools.com

I just see it as a logical extension that can enhance your tools. We're a custom software developer that targets larger companies, so if we had a tool that we could role out to smaller companies it would save them $ and would be a more efficient implementation. The smaller company market segment wants to have the same apps as the large fortune 500 companies, but do not have the budget. These apps are cost effective and seem to handle tasks like article management and content management well. These are the things our smaller clients are looking for. By adding user management you're providing a suite of tools that can cover all of the necessary tasks for an administrator.

I would like to know more about this. Could you tell me where I can find instructions on how to do the single sign-on trick?

Hi Luke, Would you mind it if I ask you to attach the required files to do so here in the forum so everyone can benefit? (including myself of course) Cheers! Haitham halkibsi@mtiaz.com http://www.mtiaz.com

Hi Haitham, Thanks for posting. We used to have the files available on the forum, but we found that it caused a bit of confusion for people who didn't really understand how to use them. So we just hand them out individually now, and if anyone wants one they can shoot us an email and we can send it out right away. I hope that helps explain Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com
