Global Default Template Feature

Hello Luke,
How about adding a Global Default Template feature to allow a web master to choose a primary template design to update all pages through the administration control panel. This would work as the default template for the entire site and yet, each category could still specify its own template design. This feature would allow the webmaster to create multiple versions of a template and allow an administrator to update the entire site simply by selecting the Global Template and update all pages specified. Thus, instead of going into each category it could be done in one control.
What do you think?

Hi fabjr71,
Thanks for posting.
From what I understand, you would like to have an option in the Setup Options that would allow you to change template sets.
I like the idea. Though you could include zipped up files similar to how we do with our software, switching templates completly through the interface would be great. I'll add it to the Feature Request list so that the Project Manager is aware of the idea.

Thanks for the response.
Yes, it would be a great feature. As a web master, it would allow me to create a series of web designs for the client site. Thus, not only could the client change each category theme but they could also then change the entire site within the control panel.
It would probably be a lot of work, but having all the template designs in section with thumbnails would be great... similar to the current display views of images in each document.
Being able to upload template designs through the control panel would also be ideal.
My ideas are all coming from our research and customer service department as we get feedback from out clients and what they would like to see in the software. Look for more product/feature requests from me.
I am also posting one for a central control panel.
