Do you guys have any plans to develop an e-commerce system in the future? I have a client who has an existing shopping cart but is looking for something tht would include inventory management. For example, that would automatically deduct ordered products from the inventory? And which would automatically generate invoices for orders? He has looked into systems that have those functions but they are expensive. So I told him I'd ask if the guys at Interactive tools had anything in the pipeline!

Depending on what you consider expensive you might want to look into eDatCat.com ($449). They have a great shopping cart system that is easy to install and even easier to customize, now they even write you a custom cgi script that instals the shopping cart onto your server for you NICE!. There cart uses .txt files for the entire store templates so it is easy to make the site look and feel how you want instead of designing your site around your shopping cart, a huge plus if your interested in style just as much as usability. There are way to many ecommerce stores out there that are exactly the same. The great thing is you can download the actual program and use it for 10 days before you even buy. Hope this helps, if not you can always go with the free oscommerce ecommerce solution at oscommerce.org. This is for apache and PHP only though but it is open source which is nace. I would recomend the first because the time you save and the professional look and features are well worth the $449.
