Like you guys need yet another product suggestion... Nevertheless, what about a product that allows people to manage files online? Call it "Doc Manager," or something. I would guess that most developers who are customers of Interactive Tools work with clients who have less than 10 employees. So...this would be a product that allows company employees (or as a service to their website users/members) to upload/store, manage, and share documents through the website -- allowing anytime access. I could envision similar features of your other products: multiple levels of users, category support, a name field, a summary field (for brief descriptions of files), ability to limit file types and sizes; as well Windows Explorer-like features. Hey Brandon, That's an interesting idea, actually... some sort of simple GUI to control, upload, remove (edit?) files on a server - with multi-user access. I'll certainly pass this one along as a feature request. Thanks. Ben interactivetools.com

Maybe it's not enough to justify an entirely new PRODUCT, but it'd be nice to have a tool slightly more powerful and multi-user oriented than a file upload script. You guys already have aspects of this built into other products, so perhaps someone could even break out that chunk of code and make it an unsupported free script, similar to htmlArea...! Easy for me to say, eh? Brandon

Free? I like that business model. ;-) Seriously, though, I like the idea. I think something like that could make a useful addition to all our products which currently offer file uploading. While you are talking about a document management tool/add-on, I would consider a photomanager too. Often organizations have a large store of photos that need a better place to live than in some random dirctory on thier server or PC. I have a client that is a photographer and would like an auto-populate feature that would create a page of thumbnails, ordered by category. I have another that would like to have a photo storage device similar that would be used internally by marketng staff who could get the digital imagea and art work from the graphics team. Having an add-on that would slurp up the images, create thumbnails and then point to the images via a link to a pop-up window would be interesting.

Hi Jan Thanks for posting and welcome to the board! While this still is a great idea, it hasn't been something we have looked at specifically yet. With most of our software though, there are several ways to work with uploaded files. Have a look at Page Publisher and Article Manage as they are the two most common. Of course, let me know if you need anymore details on either of them . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
