Accessibility & 508 Compliance Can't Post

Hey Gang,

I've got a huge project for you. If you can tackle this, it will be a lot easier for me to sell solutions to Government agencies. Compliance is becoming a hot topic in the state of Ohio and will soon become a real issue in the courts and violations of civil liberties.

I'd like to request that you build measures into your software to allow for compliance. Not sure really what to tell you or how to accomplish this. All I know is that if you go to this site, you can review all the criteria for compliance for both Article 508 and Accessibility.

If Artman, Listman, and Search were to become compliant or allow for compliance development, I think it would be easier to sell solutions to government agencies who must comply or lose federal funding.

Thanks,

Frank Beier

Hi Frank,

Thanks for posting.

Surprisingly, accessiblity compliance hasn't been requested that much, but I can definatly see the value in the suggestion that you have proposed. I'll be sure to pass your ideas on the development team.

If you have any other suggestions or feedback for us, don't hesitate to post again Smile

Actually, you can add another vote for accessibility here (as well as for valid html!!).

Thanks for the Christmas present, by the way!

Add me to the gang of accessibility requestors. I currently program accessible, strict (X)HTML code with CSS design. This will become standard in the US soon as it already has in other countries.

Not only does it help those with disabilities, but it really isn't that hard to do once you learn it (I don't miss TR TD etc. for divisions of the website), and makes the website a lot faster if you don't use a lot of buttons and Jscript for rollovers. My pages load a lot faster without all the styling in each onc, saves me space on the server, etc.

Thanks!
