AM Feature - Glossary Can't Post

Prior to Article Manager I used a program called Coranto. AM is superior in almost every way, save one. I had this great add-on called Glossary which spotted words in my text (Summary) and automatically replaced it with something different upon publishing. This was incredibly useful as I used Coranto and now AM to present news, and thus when I mentioned a specific company it would see it and insert the HTML link tags automatically (shown below). A simple internal interface allowed me to define Glossary terms so I could add new ones.

So if I typed 'Infiniti Productions' in the summary text, it was automatically changed upon publishing to '<A HREF="http://www.infiniti-pro.com" target="_blank">Infiniti Productions</A>'. It saved me from repeatedly having to key in the same code day after day.

I was disappointed when I found AM didn't have such a feature, but the other benefits of the program still made it a better choice for me. I hope you'll consider such a feature in the future, it's a huge timesaver.

Thanks!

Jon

Re: [Ashby] AM Feature - Glossary [In reply to] Can't Post

Some call it "replacemnts" .. they are so cool .. I use them in all my forums.

Just curious, can CSS be used for that? If so, maybe the admin interface can read that file and allow us to update and save it (like any simple guestbook script does).

Ashby, thanks for mentioning that, if this feature is considered it would save users alot of time and help avoid typos and it would look so professional.

I guess 'replacements' is certainly much clearer isn't it? :) Not sure about CSS.. I have only a rudimentary knowledge of them, but I think I know how you mean. Instead of on publishing, it'd be converted on page load if I understand you correctly.. interesting.

I hope the IT team will consider this feature, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
