AM2: Database Editor Feature Enhancement

I am having a lot of fun with the database editor. I am working on a new site and am doing most of the work with the editor and templates versus custom coding.
I do have on simple request. Can you expose the Field Label to the templates? This would allow me to edit labels on the site using the db editor instead of changing the templates.
This would mean that every field would have two useable fields: $article.field_name$ and $article.label.field-name$
