1. TWO NEW WAYS TO REACH INTERACTIVETOOLS.COM: FORUM AND LIVECHAT

Just in case you didn't have enough ways to make contact with Interactivetools.com, we've added two more: a threaded discussion forum and Live Chat.
I always feel uncomfortable when launching a new discussion forum. They start out completely empty, and like a high school prom nobody's comfortable getting out onto the dance floor first. Helloooo, is anybody here?
We've got areas for discussing Interactivetools.com, our various products, and even an area for off-topic discussions - rave about the World Cup, or discuss the merits of some obscure Perl coding technique.
Our hope for the forum is that it will eventually stand as a fantastic resource of information for you, but right now it needs a little content. So, won't you do us a favour and drop by and visit? Post an actual question that's nagging you, or just say hi. We're feeling a little lonely. ;-)

The other new addition is Live Chat. You click a button on our website, open up an ICQ/style chat window and bang, you're talking with someone from Interactivetools.com - live! In fact, you'll probably end up talking to me, but don't let that discourage you.
You can find the Live Chat button located over on the right-hand side of the interface on most pages in the Interactivetools.com website.
So, if you want to reach us here at Interactivetools.com, you can: call us, send us an email, fax us, mail us, use our forum, and now Live Chat. The channels are open.

2. WELCOME DAVE LO AND ROX ZURBUCHEN
--------------------------------------------------
Two new recruits have joined Interactivetools.com. You may very well cross paths with them in the future:
Dave Lo, coder extraordinaire, dueled 300 other programmers to win a coveted spot on our development team. During the month-long hiring process, he withstood countless interviews, trick questions, our gruesome 3-page Perl test, and comprehensive background checks. Previous to Interactivetools.com, Dave did "the usual techie stuff" for "a couple of companies" - but he couldn't tell me more without violating his confidentiality agreements. Yikes!
And in the admin corner, Rox Zurbuchen has stepped up to the plate (I just mixed my sports metaphors). She'll be handling orders, refunds, office administration, and generally giving Damon the option of working regular hours (poor guy was getting a little overworked). Before Interactivetools.com, Rox was working for a previous client of ours. I know what you're thinking, but trust me, no poaching, it's all on the up and up.

3. IMPORTANT SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR ALL OUR PRODUCTS

Important new upgrade. All product upgrades now include a "Disk Quota Exceeded" warning message. This warning message will alert you when you have reached your disk quota (server hard drive space) and prevent you from losing data.
We highly recommend you request and install this upgrade. Of course, it's free.

4. SPOTLIGHT ON TWO ARTICLE MANAGER FEATURED CLIENTS

In the last newsletter I asked for people to send along links to websites they've created using Interactivetools.com software. Thanks a lot! I posted them all to the various "Featured Clients" sections on our website.
Here's a spotlight on two clients who've used Article Manager to develop their websites:
Washington Dispatch
------------------------
The Washington Dispatch is an independent news and commentary site that focuses on national and international events. Article Manager forms the backbone of the site, publishing all articles and index pages. The look and feel of the pages was extensively customized from the ground up, bypassing the software's default templates. Article Manager has saved vast amounts of time and money. A 2 hour daily process filled with coding errors and corrections has been condensed into a quick and clean 30 minutes.
Industry Link - the newsletter for members of BNIF

Industry Link is an online version of a newsletter for members of the British Nuclear Industry Forum. By using Article Manager any member of their staff can update the latest content live to the website. They already had an established design for the paper version, so it was just a matter of tweaking the default templates until the styles, colours and headers matched the newsletter. With a little training, any member of staff can update it, thus reducing workload, cost, and time issues on the web developers. Both the paper version and the online version of Industry Link are designed and maintained by UK based Sticky New Media.

5. REJARGONATE THE JARGONATOR WITH PSEUDODICTIONARY
--------------------------------------------------
The highlight of my professional career was when I got the term "grey matter" into Wired Magazine's Jargonwatch (http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/4.01/jargon_watch.html). I know, I know, set your sights high.
I've been worried, however, that my new term added to the English language would quickly be forgotten. Fortunately, a company here in Vancouver, Canada is working hard to preserve the heritage of silly, made-up phrases: Pseudodictionary.

So far they've got more than 10,000 new terms you can spring on your unsuspecting friends and colleagues to show just how "with it" you are. My favorite tool on the site is the Randomerizor (their word): never the same term twice.
*** NOTE *** Even though it was working yesterday, I checked the link to Pseudodictionary this morning and the site seems to be going up and down. So, if the link isn't working when you try, give it some time and try again later.
