INTERACTIVETOOLS.COM An HTML version of this newsletter is available at: http://www.interactivetools.com/news/?nl June 8, 2002 - Issue #9 http://www.interactivetools.com/?nl info@interactivetools.com ************************************** In this issue: 1) Snippets of Wisdom from our Forum 2) A Few New Product Updates 3) Spotlight on two more Article Manager featured clients. 4) Revised Demos for All our Software -------------------------------------------------- 1. SNIPPETS OF WISDOM FROM OUR FORUM -------------------------------------------------- All you loyal Interactivetools.com newsletter subscribers will recall that we announced the addition of Discussion Forums to our website. Although lots of you came by and took a look, I'm sure the low content on the Forums discouraged you. Well, what a difference a month makes. The Forums are hopping, with dozens of topics and hundreds of posts. One of the biggest reasons to revisit the Forum, though, is the cool tips and tricks. Here are some highlights. Article Manager ---------------------- How to display your homepage stories in two columns: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=237 How to display stories from several different categories on the same page: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=43 Backdate your articles all the way to 1980 http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=280 How to create subcategories http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=39 Realty Manager ---------------------- Create a Google-style navigation of your search results http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=269 Customize Realty Manager for just one agent http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=164 So, if you've got a puzzler that you need some help with, go ahead and post your question to the forum. We'll do what we can to help you out. http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi -------------------------------------------------- 2. A FEW NEW PRODUCT UPDATES -------------------------------------------------- The programmers have eased up a little this month, so only a few of our products have been upgraded (they must be working on something big). Upgrades are always free, so go ahead and grab the ones you need. http://www.interactivetools.com/upgrade/?nl AUTO MANAGER - version 2.24 (July 2nd) - Search optimization resulting in faster searching and less memory usage. - Auto Manager now supports a recommended total of 2000 listings. DOCBUILDER - version 1.07 (July 2nd) - Put all login images in /images folder so they can be edited. - Added setup options field "Footerbar Text" to allow users to change "Powered by" text in the administrative program. - Added checkbox to the setup options which allows users to disable the meta generator tag and timestamp from being written to the published pages. - Updated the template sets to include a JavaScript collapsible menu. REALTY MANAGER - version 2.25 (July 3rd) - Added feature to the setup options which allows users to disable the meta generator tag and timestamp from being written to the published pages. - Search optimization resulting in faster searching and less memory usage. (version 2.24) - Realty Manager now supports a recommended total of 2000 listings. (version 2.24) -------------------------------------------------- 3. SPOTLIGHT ON TWO MORE ARTICLE MANAGER FEATURED CLIENTS. -------------------------------------------------- Here's a spotlight on two more clients who've used Article Manager to develop their websites: MethodJournal ------------------------ MethodJournal is an online journal where IT/Internet industry professionals can publish articles, essays, thesis, market research, and projects for the professional community to share. Since Article Manager allows for full automation, MethodJournal can then focus on the quality of the publications and its consulting practice rather than constantly trying to update the site. Instead of using Article Manager's default templates, the design team researched the best way to present their information and then used the software to automate the publishing process. Manx Business Connection ------------------------ Manx Business Connection is sponsored by The Isle of Man Government's Department of Trade and links the Island's business community with those of the Government. The site is maintained by writers, trusted writers and an editor made up of staff from the Manx Business Connection. The site consists of a frameset with Article Manager content active only in the main body frame. New roll-over buttons were added and hard-coded to link to the relevant article. The rest of the templates were retained as original article manager templates with simple colour changes only. The development company, Arts Interactive, said that it would have been impossible to produce such a secure, tested and stable content management system with the budget they had available without Article Manager. REVISED DEMOS FOR ALL OUR SOFTWARE -------------------------------------------------- To understand how Interactivetools.com software can work for your website, you've really got to try it out. Mess around, add content, manage users, upload images, and generally have some fun. We build a blank demo from scratch for each person, so you won't have to share with other people taking the software for a spin. There's nothing to download or configure, it's all built for you online (and then deleted 6 hours later). So, if haven't taken a look at all of our software, now's your chance. And we revised all our demos this month to make them even easier and faster to use. Click one of these links... and BAM!... you're demoing the software.
