3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY: INTERACTIVETOOLS TURNS SIX

On January 28th we celebrated our 6th year of being in business. It was six years ago when interactivetools started out doing custom programming, providing clients with built-to-order web programs.

4. FIREFOX PLUG-IN FOR GOOGLE AND ALEXA RANKINGS

If you're a webmaster or web developer (or work with websites in one form or another) you probably spend time advertising your site and submitting it to search engines. You'll likely want to know things like page rankings for your site and others.
Good news - Quirk, a company specializing in eMarketing services, recently released a free Mozilla Firefox plug-in to help aid search engine marketers. The plug-in, named SearchStatus, lets you view the Google PageRank and Alexa popularity ranking of the page you're visiting. It can also provide users with the sites Google Category, the number of Alexa incoming and related links, and backward links from Google, Yahoo! and MSN.

We're honoured to have recently been featured in a book on web design. John Heartfield, an international consultant specializing in web design, authored "Make Your Small Business Website Work: Easy Answers to Content, Navigation, and Design".
The book is packed with interesting tips and suggestions. As the title suggests, the main focus is website navigation and content creation. It features several websites (including interactivetools.com) as case studies, giving examples of good versus bad navigation. Thankfully the interactivetools.com site was used as a good example! :)
