Posting articles for future publication? Can't Post

We're currently installing Article Manager to replace our existing HTML based site at http://www.contractoruk.co.uk. It's very content driven, so the software will make our lives a lot easier.

One thing we could REALLY use is the ability to upload articles with a future date, so they automatically appear at a pre-defined time in the future. This would mean I could get away on holiday for a change :-) and input articles before I go.

Would this be an easy mod to make to Article Manager, or does anyone know where I can find the code to make this happen?

Many thanks

I agree, that would be a great feature!

While it is possible to make articles hidden and post them live at a future date you still have to log in and make them visible yourself.

An automated feature isn't supported, but we have had enough people request it that it's up there on our list of feature requests. While not all features requested will be added, we'll be sure to give this one some careful consideration when the time comes to begin developing the next major version.

Thanks for the feedback!

James, this is hardly an original thought, or a substitute for the automation you have on your wish list, but it's a good work-around for the time being: when going on vacation, tap a trustworthy volunteer to flip the switch on the appropriate dates while you're on vacation.

Thanks Luke, that would be great if time/priorities allow. For now, I'll do as 'Charity' suggested, upload various articles and get someone to switch them 'on' when I'm away...

Better yet, take the laptop with you, and write off the whole vacation as a business trip on your tax reports! ;-)

Seriously though, a simple timer set to publish would be a great! Add my name to that list of 'requesters'.
