Pop Up Script for use with AM

Hi, Not sure if this should be off-topic or AM forum - please feel free to move it if required. Has anyone got a decent pop-up script that I could use with AM. Sadly the only way I can find for my redesigned sections to work is to have the actual articles pop up in a new window - hence the request. I am having to design the sections in PHP to cary over Cat settings from my forums. As a result I now have my php pages pulling in various AM templates - that all works great - until such time as one clicks on the article in question. Because I need that article link to connect to a PHP page and not an SHTML or HTML page, the only way I can see is to use a pop up. The alternative would be for the article page in PHP to pull in the 3 or 4 AM templates, along with the correct article_1234.shtml page - but how would the article php page know which article shtml page to pull in? I do not code well enough to be able to write a small script that would carry over the article number and use that to dynamically build the article page. (did that make sense?!)

Hi Canvey, I have noticed some examples of javascripts popup code in the forum but I'm not fully sure what you are after. You can change the published file extensions with Article Manager to .php. Can you give some examples of what you are trying to do? And maybe even a link? Cheers Damon Edis interactivetools.com

Hi Damon, Can one really change the published extension to .php? I thought artman was written in Perl. So if one changes it and saves the default page to php, one can run php scripts on the site? Yes, am a newbie.

Yes and no... There were certain parts that didnt like it so much, such as the "More headlines" bit - but it will indeed output to PHP, and thus render the page capable of running other scripts. After playing, I dediced to call the news items into a separate PHP page though, rather than have the whole thing run through Article Manager. I think this was more because of my limitations that AMs though ;)
