How do I make a restricted file upload area? Can't Post

I have just taken over support of a website which uses Article Manager version 1.41 and would appreciate your advice on some changes that are required. The site is for a society and they want to add a file upload area which is visible only to their committee members, and to which only authorised members can upload files for their own activities. So there would be a sub-area for committee meeting minutes which only the secretary could upload to; all committee members could view it but no general users of the site could access it. Similarly only the membership secretary could upload the spreadsheet with the membership list but all the committee could view it etc. Can I do that using Article Manager?
The service provider provides htAdmin but apart from that I can't see any other useful tools for this.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Peter,

Article Manager 1 isn't really designed for something like that, but you could do it fairly easily with Article Manager 2 as Artman2 automatically publishes its categories into different directories. Then you could specify a username & password for the directory in question.

I hope this helps. :)
