Any way to not use shtml extension?

We are not using server side includes, and neither is Article Manager, based on what we can tell, in the published articles.
We would prefer to use .htm or .html and want to know short of searching and replacing shtml or html after we publish the articles is there a way to automate this change?
We are overly paranoid (and somewhat knowledgeable) about seo and that's why we are asking.

Hi Ellen.
Thanks for posting!
You can actually change the extensions on all your pages by making one quick adjustment to something on the Server tab in Setup Options. Just look for the Publish file extension field under Publish Settings. That should get you going with whatever extension you prefer to use.
So you know, by default, Article Manager does use SSI for a few different things on each page so if you hadn’t actually changed the templates, there is a chance they will still be using SSI.
It’s easy to change back to shtml though so have a go and let me know how you make out  .

The site we are modifying is www.247advisor.com and we have made significant template revisions - including hard wired in the categories and subcategory links in the templates (so we no longer require ssi on these pages).
