AM: Menu - Selected Branch to show Parent and Peer Categories ??

Hey All, I'm hoping there's a tweak I can do to get the menu structure of AM to show all the level 2 sub-categories in a particular level 1 category not matter which level 2 category is selected. For example When "cat 1 sub-b" is selected, I want to see only the "cat 1 sub-a" and "cat 1 sub-b" items in the menu. Using the Selected Branch only option I can get sub-a and sub-b to both show up with Category 1 is selected, but the moment I select cat 1 sub-a, sub-b disappears. If we could do this then I could code the categories (which won't change) as items horizontally across the top of the page and have AM manage all of the sub-categories as a nav element in a vertical sidebar. See http://www.waappleseed.org/projects.shtml as an example. Right now I am hardcoding the vertical nav elements because I can't limit the view of the menu items to show all the level 2 categories regardless of which one is selected. Got any magic to share? I've searched the forum and couldn't find anything. Cheers, Eric

Hi Eric. Thanks for posting! What you are looking for here actually kind of fits in between the options that are built into Article Manager for displaying the category list. The next closest option would be to display level one categories. That way, when you click on cat 1 sub-a, cat 1 sub-b will still show. Of course, so will CATEGORY 1 and CATEGORY 2. There is the option of doing some hardcoding however, you would end up without as much dynamic-ness as you normally would. Let me know what you think and I can go into more detail on the option you like best . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
