Javascript news ticker?

Has anyone figered out a way to have a JavaScript news tickers pull the latest headlines from AM?
I think I'm going to play around with this today and see if I can get something to work.

I just saw the current discussion down the page in this forum.
I'm going to try and see if there is a way to do this without and regular expression and have AM output the headlines.txt file.
Before I dive into this......
Is this going to be an option (creating a txt files with the latest headlines in addition to the normal templates) in the upcoming version of AM? If so, I'll hold off.
