Sure, no worries. To get it to post to a particular forum, you have to first find out the forum number you wish to post to. To find this out, you should be able to just go to your forums main page (the page that lists all the different forums), and roll your mouse over the link. In the status bar of your browser, it should show you the link, and it probably contains something like "f=5" in the query string - or something like that. That's the bit that uniquely identifies your forum number. Next, in goforum.cgi, you need to change the value of this line, to point to that forum: $g{'forum_num'} = 5; And that's it! If you're really stuck, just post me back. :-) Ben interactivetools.com

Sent you a private message but I'd thought I'd let you know a coupla things: 1. The link back to the article doesn't show up on the forum thread, it just shows the summary (it also shows the image placeholder in the summary which I'd like to prevent) and the "What do you think about this story? Post your comments below" . It would be a nice feature if the "What do you think about this story? Post your comments below" was in fact the "reply to" link of the topic. Just a suggestion. To see what I mean here's the link: http://www.gamefrags.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=38 2. The WYSIWYG editor is not functioning for creating articles for some reason....doesn't even display. ANy suggestions?? Hey Sean, Yeah - the current version doesn't have a link back to the full article. It's a good idea, and I actually just reworking it for that very functionality. It's all finished, and will be released pending a final code review and QA. If you're curious, I've also added a 'category-to-forum mapping' option, which allows you to specify which forum a particular article is posted to, depending on the Article Manager category. It's kinda neat. :-) No WYSIYWG... this could be due to a couple of things. First - has it ever worked, or did it just stop working? First thing to check is that WYSIWYG is turned on for that field. Click on Setup Options and scroll down the page. Make sure that the field type for (say) the content or summary field is set to WYSIWYG. If that doesn't work, compare the images directory / URL path in your Setup Options (under the server tab)with the actual path on your server. Does that /images directory contain an htmlarea subdirectory? It should! Ben interactivetools.com

The category to forum functionality sounds cool as well as the link back. I only mentioned it because users that go to our forums directly wouldn't have a clue what article is being referenced unless we go edit the thread and manually put a link in. As for the WYSIWYG.........for some reason the images never made it on the upload but all is well now. Thanks again. I should be done bothering you by the end of the week. This is another old old goforum thread. If anyone wants to continue the conversation either create a new thread or reply to a newer one. Thanks! : ) Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
