Ok, we have a few ideas for new features, including a flag for "login" (yes/no) for people who have forums that don't require logging in, a flag for parsing HTML out of content, and a debug mode to make it easier to track down problems. If anyone is still having troubles getting the add-on working let us know. We're working on support for a few new forums and hope to have those ready soon. Just a note to say that on one of our company's other sites, we run UBB (Classic, 5.x rather than 6.x). If someone manages to come up with Discuss This Article code for UBB, I'd be more than happy to test it out. - Dave Cusick (dave.cusick@livepublishing.co.uk) Group Editor & Web Administrator Live Publishing International Ltd www.livepublishing.co.uk

Hi Dave, If you could send me an URL for your UBB install I can either signup or you could give me an account and I could try to adapt goforum.cgi for it. Note: We just released a new version support 3 more forums so it will be a little while before I can get to this but I should be able to get it done. I know UBB is very popular. We're not adding any new forums right now, as we're super busy on Article Manager 2.0. But we'll likely come back to it in the future and add support for some more forums. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi Sean, Thanks for the post! The goforum add-on currently supports: - vbulletin - ubbthreads - gossamer forum - ikonboard - discus As Theo has said, for those looking to add new forum support to goforum, we offer this at a $75 flat fee. Let me know if you have any other questions. :) Cheers! Donna Donna

Very cool, Just in the process of getting pricing to upgrade to Article Manager and if all goes well I would just need to know who to contact about the flat fee and arranging for it to be done. I' d like to pay for both at once if possible. Well Sean... it's your lucky day! I just inquired about this, and turns out we're already in the midst of adding Invision. :) It's in QA right now, so it should be available soon. Keep an eye on the forums, it should be announced soon. :) Donna

Hey Sean, Yes, goforum needs to have access to post to the forums and this (usually) requires setting up a dummy account that allows it to post. Just go into your forum and create an account with username "guest" and password "guest", for example. Create a post to make sure it works, then go into goforum and enter those values for the username and password settings. The script doesn't allow existing users to post with their own username / password. And this kind of makes sense, since anyone can create the initial post, simply by clicking on the [discuss this article] link for the first time. But the problem you're receiving now is due to something else... what are the permissions on that file? Make sure it's 755 (it looks like you're on a unix server) - the same as the other scripts in that directory. Give that a go, and post me back! Nice looking site, by the way. Ben interactivetools.com

Hi Sean, I'm not sure your $Bin value is set up properly. Right now it says: $Bin = "/home/www/cgi-bin/"; This has to point to your /artman/exec directory - not your base /cgi-bin/ dir, since the script looks for certain Article Manager database files that are in that directory. (Also, try it without the trailing slash - I have a feeling that might confuse some servers). Give that a go & post me back! Ben interactivetools.com

Hmmm... I wonder.. I think this may be something I'll have to take a look at directly. Could I ask you to fill in a support request? Put "Attention Ben" in the comments section, so it comes my way. Thanks, Sean. Ben interactivetools.com

Thanks for that. All fixed! What I did was uncomment the FindBin lines (that's the bit which automatically detects where the goforum script is, and consequently where the artman database files are). I added a test article - feel free to go ahead and delete it. It should work fine now. Ben interactivetools.com
