Copy/paste issue & display strange on Blackberry browser Can't Post

COPY/PASTE ISSUE

We're experiencing a strange issue with copying and pasting email addresses coded with Spambot. (Maybe they've always been an issue and we've never noticed it before. Or maybe this is just the way Spambot works. But, we thought it might be something that should be looked into.)

First of all, when copying encoded email addresses from a web page, pasting does not result in an accurate replica of the text that was copied.

For instance, on this page, www.praisecenterchurch.org/dev, if we copy the email address "contactATpraisecenterchurch.org", when pasting we get: "gro.hcruhcretnecesiarp@tcatnoc".

SMALL BROWSER (BLACKBERRY) DISPLAY ISSUE

We're not sure if this occurrs on other small browsers, or just the BlackBerry we've been testing on, but email addresses are appearing in the same format as noted above. So, for instance, what should appear as "contactATpraisecenterchurch.org" is actually appearing as "gro.hcruhcretnecesiarp@tcatnoc". Again, you can see this on the same test page mentioned before: www.praisecenterchurch.org/dev

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Working as intended. :) The "reversal" of the email address is one of the methods that Spambot Email Protector uses to baffle harvesters, and many browsers end up showing it reversed when you copy & paste. You can turn that off if it's a problem -- pop into the spambot-email-protector.php file, and find the line that says this:

$GLOBALS['SEP_ENCODING_METHODS']['bdo'] = true;

Change this to "false", and it'll remove that particular method. All of the other methods will still be in use, so you're still well protected. :)

Thanks Donna!

That worked perfectly! All problems (which really weren't problems, after all) are resolved. :-)

I knew you guys would know what to do!

Much appreciated!
