Search displays content from another site Can't Post

I copied the search engine from site one to site two and configured.

Now when I search site 2, content from site 1 displays sometimes.

Where do I clear this cache?

FYI: I already tried removing all the files in /data/result_cache, /data/search_stats and /data/search_test and that didn't resolve the problem. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Danny!

Thanks for your email. :)

Since there's pretty much nothing in Search Engine that transfers across servers, I'd actually recommend starting from scratch with a brand new installation. Make sure you've got your product key (you can find this in the Setup Options) and you can download the latest version here:

Give that a try and let me know how it goes for you. :)

That doesn't solve the problem. FYI: This isn't live yet. I'm testing the search by heating DNS locally and querying "test"

Hi Danny,

Can you go into more detail about how the server is setup? If the DNS isn't live yet, this could be why it's doing odd things.

It's a linux server in a data center. I installed the search engine on a site that has a dedicated ip. I'm cheating dns locally on my computer so I can test search queries. When I perform a test search, results show up from a different site that also has the search engine installed on it. Will this be resolved once it's live?

Hi Danny,

Hard to say exactly what's going on without taking a look at it, but I'd be willing to bet that that's why you're getting odd results.

One thing you can do to see what files are currently being indexed by going to the Category Editor, then click "Files". This will show you everything that Search Engine has in its cache, and you can click "Ignore" for anything that shouldn't be there.

Alternately, while you're testing, you could also change the server settings in Search Engine to the IP address, then when you go live, you can switch it to the real domain.
